An Introduction

Welcome.

As a project for Raising the Bar - Peterborough, we've asked our Sir Sandford Fleming placement student to visit the child care centres in our community and take pictures of the different play areas that are essential components of an early learning and child care environment.  These include dramatic, blocks, sensory, book,  gross and fine motor as well as pictures that try to give an over all feel for the setting.

Our purpose for these photos is to offer inspiration as well an evolving resource to the child care community.
We've complied these pictures into photo books that are available to borrow through the Resource Library located at the Raising the Bar office.  Our plan is to utilize these photo books during workshops and networking groups to provide new ideas and affirm the good old stand-by's.

We also wanted to make these images available to ECEs that may not have the time to come to the office and borrow.  That is the reason for this blog. To share with these photos with you so that if you are feeling stuck or tired of what you have always done with a particular area in your child care centre, you can take some time to view these photos and hopefully get a few ideas that might work in your own centre.
